Lyon vs D. Zagreb result September 27, 2011

Lyon end a six match run without a Champions League victory against a poor Dinamo Zagreb, securing a comfortable 2-0 win at the Stade Gerland.

Both goals were scored in the first half with France striker Bafetimbi Gomis and Bakary Kone.
Ajax lost 3-0 against Real Madrid in another link Pool D victory alongside Remi Garde puts in a strong position to progress to the knockout stages for the ninth consecutive time.

The French side were good value for their victory and could have scored many goals as they created more chance after chance against a team from Dinamo he simply could not cope with their pace and trickery.
With the faithful in turbulent Lyon beautiful voice, it was left to Lyon Gomis top scorer opened the scoring with a sublime chip over the onrushing Ivan Kelava the purpose of Dinamo on 23 minutes. Gomis was a handful throughout, yet it was lavish, missed two gilt-edged chances either side of a piece of individual brilliance, when put clear.
Pacy with Michel Bastos on the left and Jimmy Briand and Maxime Gonalons progress on the other side, Dinamo Zagreb full-back had a torrid time.
The French side had several more chances in the first half and it was not until the 42nd minute they doubled their account. Clément Grenier whipped in a corner and Bakary Kone, left unamarked the six-yard box, stroking home the second goal of the night before a Kelava struggled.
Just before the second half Dinamo Zagreb were lucky not to be 3-0 that Grenier was thwarted by Ivan Kelava the purpose of Dinamo, after an elegant piece of close control.
Whatever Krunoslav Jurcic - a member of the squad at the Stade de Gerland when Croatia defeated Germany 3-0 in the UEFA Cup 1998 World - said he has not had the desired effect. Sammir young Brazilian appears to be the only player in Dinamo Zagreb to show urgency, but just minutes from the break, Gomis again went within inches of adding to the scoreline.
The second half became increasingly scrappy with Jerko Leko shown yellow cards for fouls and Sammir sloppy. Lyon were happy to sit back and wait for Dinamo to chase the game, yet there were more chances for Grenier and Alexandre Gomis replacement Lacazette that Lyon opened the visitors' defense at will. Unfortunately they were unable to put the ball in the back of the net to ram home their total domination.
As for Dinamo Zagreb, who had been out of competition for 12 years, they offered little creativity and motivation. Hugo Lloris has rarely been tested in order to Lyon, but when it was called, he was alert, making intelligent avoids Leko and Sammir.

The coach Krunoslav Jurcic now need all his powers of motivation to wake up the giant Croat, if progress in the final stages.
